Racecar driver Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s cast list has been announced, unveiling the 29 women who will be competing for the returning star's love on the upcoming season of The Bachelor.

The newest members of the Bachelor franchise family represent 19 states and Canada, touting careers in a wide range of industries. In contrast to ABC's tradition of including a few wildcards in its roster (past job descriptions have included a "chicken enthusiast" and a "ticklemonster," for example), the network appears to have recruited more professionals this season, from the tech field to real estate.

In a casting first, one woman's age is also missing on ABC's lineup. Of the other 28, the youngest suitor is 23 and the oldest is 33. Luyendyk Jr., who is 36, placed runner-up on Emily Maynard's 2012 season of The Bachelorette.

Season 22 of ABC's long-running franchise continues the show's effort to feature a more diverse cast, though its inclusivity continues to be outpaced by sister spinoff The Bachelorette. After facing years of criticism for its lack of non-white leads and contestants over its 16-year history on the air, ABC featured its first black lead with last season's Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. Half of her cast were non-white contestants, making her season the most diverse in franchise history. Luyendyk Jr.’s cast, however, appears to be more in line with Bachelor Nick Viall’s 2017 season, which featured eight non-white contestants.

Eight women of color will vy for Luyendyk Jr.’s heart, in line with the number of diverse candidates seen last season during Nick Viall’s turn. Viall’s cast featured 22 white and eight non-white contestants. By comparison, the previous Bachelor with Ben Higgins featured five non-white contestants and 2015's with Chris Soules featured only one. In Feb. 2017, ABC selected its first black lead, Rachel Lindsay, to helm season 13 of The Bachelorette. In a casting first, one woman's age is missing on ABC's lineup. Of the other 28, the youngest suitor is 23 and the oldest is 33, while Luyendyk Jr. is 36.

Season 22 continues the dating franchise's effort to feature more diversity, as ABC has faced years of criticism for its lack of diverse leads and contestants over the course of its 16-year history. Ahead of the Jan. 1 season premiere, meet the new group below and check back in on Live Feed for ongoing coverage of Luyendyk Jr.’s journey to the altar.

Racecar driver Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s cast list is here, featuring 29 ladies competing for love on The Bachelor.

The newest members of the Bachelor franchise family represent 19 states and Canada, touting careers in a wide range of industries. In contrast to ABC's tradition of including a few wildcards into its roster (i.e. a "chicken enthusiast" or a "ticklemonster"), the network recruited more professionals this season, from the tech field to real estate.

Ahead of the Jan. 1 season premiere, meet the new group below and check back in on Live Feed for ongoing coverage of Luyendyk Jr.’s journey to the altar.

In Feb. 2017, ABC selected its first black lead, Rachel Lindsay, to helm season 13 of The Bachelorette.

• Ali, 27, personal stylist

    Courtesy of ABC

The key to this Oklahoman's heart? New York City and Nickelback. Ali, who describes herself as "funny, kind and down to earth," says she will need Arie to show his sense of humor for her to accept his rose.

  • Amber, 29, business owner

    Courtesy of ABC

Arie might have trouble convincing Amber to pick up her Denver-based company and join him in Arizona; she cites starting her business over in a new city with little resources as her greatest achievement. A dream lunch includes meeting Kim Kardashian and she once attempted to channel Britney Spears with a python in Thailand. "I hate snakes so this was crazy for me. I wanted to feel like Britney Spears at the VMAs, I did not," she recalls.

  • Annaliese, 32, event designer

    Courtesy of ABC

Fingers crossed Annaliese makes it to hometowns, because she and her mom have a very close bond — and matching mother-daughter tattoos. With an affinity for avocado, ice cream and wine, the Californian aspires to have the confidence of Miley Cyrus and Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross.

  • Ashley, 25, real estate agent

    Courtesy of ABC

Hint for Arie: This Floridian's dream date is a rooftop dinner overlooking an ocean view. And if you want to get on Ashley's good side, don't ask her to do the laundry. ("Takes me a whole week from washing to folding to putting it all away!") Her celebrity crush is the "super talented and super gorgeous" Brad Pitt.

  • Becca K., 27, publicist

    Courtesy of ABC

Becca, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, describes herself as "loyal, honest and charismatic." The aca-awesome fan of Pitch Perfect loves country music and having a life-time supply of chapstick. Here's to hoping she hits one of her bucket list items this season: "hot-air ballooning, grape stomping and falling in love."

  • Bekah M., nanny

    Courtesy of ABC

Bekah is one of the most-talked about contestants so far, as she is the only contestant whose age is mysteriously absent from her ABC bio. It's possible she or ABC did not want to call to attention to the large age gap between her and Bachelor star. The Californian, an avid rock climber and reality TV binge-watcher, is reportedly 22-years-old. Arie is 36.

  • Bibiana, 30, executive assistant

    Courtesy of ABC

Prediction: Bibiana will show off her moves this season. The dance lover was named co-captain of the Miami Dolphins cheerleading squad, though she admits to "secretly hating" football. Now an exec assistant, Bibiana admits that popping pimples are her guilty pleasure ("I know, gross!").

  • Bri, 25, sports reporter

    Courtesy of ABC

The last TV reporter on The Bachelor became the season villain, and this season boasts two on-air personalities (see below). Bri, a sports journalist from Oregon won an Emmy for her work covering the field and dreams of seeing the Northern Lights someday. Her experience "putting [herself] together after heartache" is likely to be addressed on the show.

  • Brittane J., 27, marketing manager

    Courtesy of ABC

Brittane hopes Arie will be ready to be a father in the near-future, as marriage, motherhood and opening her own wine and tapas bar are all a part of her five-year plan. The marketing manager from San Diego is obsessed with chocolate milkshakes and dreams of embodying Samantha from Bewitched for a day "because I could make anything happen that I wanted."

  • Brittany T., 30, tech recruiter

    Courtesy of ABC

This corgi lover hopes to pay off her student loans and have some better luck with falling in love. The tech recruiter from South Carolina has been struggling to meet guys, only meeting "terrible human beings" through dating apps. A song that helps her through it? "Everything is Awesome" from The Lego Movie.

  • Caroline, 26, realtor

    Courtesy of ABC

Caroline is waiting to have a dog until she finds the one. Until then, she enjoys taking care of her plant named Phil. You can count the realtor and former Miss Massachusetts Teen USA for some killer carpool karaoke, as one of her favorite past times is blasting Celine Dion in the car ("I put on a good concert by myself."). Marriage, to her, means "waking up next to your best friend forever. It means never quitting."

  • Chelsea, 29, real estate exec. assistant

    Courtesy of ABC

Chelsea is a woman who seems to know exactly what she wants. Tips for Arie: avoid dead silence, over-the-top PDA ("Let me breathe!") and take this Maine native to France for her dream romantic trip. She has a big sweet tooth and touts tattoos of "simple wave lines" on the side of her palms.

  • Jacqueline, 26, research coordinator

    Courtesy of ABC

Jacqueline has deep admiration for her family members, describing them as "full of life, creativity, intellect, drive, passion." The West Virginian asserts that her career in research is very important to her as she ventures to earn her Ph.D. in chemical psychology. If she had all the money in the world at her fingertips, she would build a wild animal conservation in Africa or India.

  • Jenna, 28, social media manager

    Courtesy of ABC

The Friends fan, from Indiana, says if she could be any fruit or vegetable she would be a pineapple: "Standing tall, wearing a crown and sweet on the inside." Describing herself as passionate, funny and unwaveringly loyal, she seeks out a man who comes with: a sense of humor, loving and compassionate personality, an ability to be comfortable with expressing his feelings, and someone who is also intelligent and driven.

  • Jenny, 25, graphic designer

    Courtesy of ABC

The Illinois native loves to wind down and gear up. She likes to spend her Sundays watching reality TV and eating pizza, or revisiting favorite movies Crazy, Stupid, Love, 21 Jump Street and Stand by Me. A lover of the outdoors, her bucket list includes riding an elephant, skydiving, and cliff-jumping: "Adventures, baby!"

  • Jessica, 26, television host

    Courtesy of ABC

The charitable Canadian TV host now loves the "glitz and glam" of Los Angeles life and counts prolific producer Shonda Rhimes among her role models ("I love to live life with a YES perspective!"). Her favorite sports range from snowboarding and wake surfing to weight lifting, running, spinning and Crossfit, and she says "kissing" is her favorite food. "At a young age, I witnessed true love through my parents. That's what I want," she says.

  • Kendall, 26, creative director

    Courtesy of ABC

The adventurous Santa Clarita, Calif., native once drove a car off of a ramp and through the caboose of a moving train, and idolizes Star Trek character James Kirk for being able to "explore crazy worlds." Her ideal mate is tall with an easy smile and a body that could "survive a zombie apocalypse," and her ex-boyfriend once gifted her an alligator hand holding an iron heart in a jar for her taxidermy collection.

  • Krystal, 29, fitness coach

    Courtesy of ABC

The country girl likes to spend her time having dinner out with friends or relaxing at home alone with her puppies in Montana, fears sharks and spiders and loves her job as a health and fitness coach. When asked her animal alter-ego, she names a unicorn: "Because those who believe in magic will find it."

  • Lauren B., 25, tech salesperson

    Courtesy of ABC

Lauren B., of Virginia Beach, describes herself as being open-minded, loyal, fun to be around and basic for liking to listen to Taylor Swift. She also has a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a pet-peeve warning for Arie: No texting during dinner.

  • Lauren G., 26, executive recruiter

    Courtesy of ABC

The Indianapolis native dislikes grocery shopping ("It's stressful — so many options"), would love to get inside Oprah's successful head for a day and counts the heartfelt NBC drama This Is Us as her favorite TV show. "I don't necessarily believe in fairy tales, but I do believe in things being meant to be," she says.

  • Lauren J., 33, recent masters graduate

    Courtesy of ABC

Lauren J., of Los Angeles, can't live without her Mama, nephews, porch swings, mascara and love. Her film interests skew romantic (The Little Mermaid, Pretty Woman, and The Great Gatsby) and she admits that she's messy and always late. A hater of awkward silence, she says she comes out and lets a man know she likes him on dates: "I'm over games."

  • Lauren S., 31, social media manager

    Courtesy of ABC

A Dallas native, Lauren S. says if she could be anyone for a day, it would be "literally" anyone in Taylor Swift's girl squad. Though she's from Texas, she describes herself as more of a city girl, is dying to see Hamilton and calls herself a nerd for loving the Harry Potter book series.

  • Maquel, 23, photographer

    Courtesy of ABC

The adrenaline junkie says "obvi" Paris is the most romantic city abroad and that her ideal mate would look like Ryan Gosling. She hates being "hangry" when on a date and says she always impresses a man by being herself: "Only way someone can like the real you."

  • Marikh, 27, restaurant owner

    Courtesy of ABC

The daughter of a chef, of Salt Lake City, says people often make incorrect assumptions about her, which is why she prefers to stay mysterious. Her biggest fear is unfulfilled potential and favorite actress is Meryl Streep. As for why she calls herself a romantic, she says, "No matter how much I've been hurt, I always give love another chance."

  • Nysha, 30, orthopedic nurse

    Courtesy of ABC

The South Carolina native counts skydiving and going on The Bachelor as the most outrageous things she has ever done. Her favorite TV show is ABC's Scandal ("the most powerful person in this country is a woman on that show. Need I say more?") and the fictional character's life she would slide into is Disney's Mulan ("She pretended to be a man and went to war. How badass is that?")

  • Olivia, 23, marketing associate

    Courtesy of ABC

One of the youngest of the bunch, the outgoing Illinois native names 50 Shades of Grey as her favorite book, loves the sun (her tattoo) and sunflowers ("I don't think I could go past a field of them without smiling!") The person she admires most is her mother, because "having a child at a young age and continuing her education as a nurse is not an easy task. She made me into the woman I have become today."

  • Seinne, 27, commercial real estate manager

    Courtesy of ABC

The Game of Thrones fan, who hails from Long Beach, Calif., can't live without her Yoga mat, passport, lip gloss, sunglasses and the ocean. Perhaps the 2018 season will bring her luck, as she counts New Year's Eve as her favorite holiday: "New beginnings and lots of champagne."

  • Tia, 26, physical therapist

    Courtesy of ABC

The Arkansas resident sports four tattoos (including "Mama & Papa" on her left foot), names Scandal fixer Olivia Pope as her TV alter-ego and says her favorite vacation was to a random swingers resort in Cancun ("HA! It was actually fun.") As for her marriage goals, she lists, "Lifelong commitment, passion, happiness, best friend."

  • Valerie, 25, server

    Courtesy of ABC

When asked what animal she would like to be, Valerie's answer provides a telling clue for Arie, should they end up in a relationship. "Dog," she says. "I want to be spoiled and loved unconditionally." The Nashville resident is bi-lingual, admits she won't be cooking too many romantic dinners ("I can make great reservations") and counts being a home owner by age 25 as her greatest achievement.
