Jake Tapper maintains his foothold at No. 1 on The Hollywood Reporter’s Top TV Personalities chart, leading the list dated Nov. 21.
The Top TV Personalities chart is a ranking of the most popular TV personalities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart's methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. TV personalities are defined here as performers primarily known for their appearances on their own TV series, including hosts of entertainment/news shows. The latest tracking week ended Nov. 13.
Tapper is followed by Mike Huckabee at No. 2 and Jonathan Van Ness, who jumps five spots to No. 3, thanks to increased activity surrounding his support for the trans community on Twitter.
Elsewhere, the aftermath of the 2018 midterm elections fueled surges in online engagement for late-night hosts Bill Maher (No. 6) and Stephen Colbert (No. 7).

Stephen Colbert comes in at No. 7, due to an across-the-board uptick in activity on Twitter, mixing updates from The Late Show and his own musings, both political and personal. On Nov. 8, he tweeted, “Fighting Tucker Carlson’s ideas is an American right. Targeting his home and terrorizing his family is an act of monstrous cowardice. Obviously don’t do this, but also, take no pleasure in it happening. Feeding monsters just makes more monsters,” inspiring 36,000 re-tweets.
