For the first time, comedian and YouTube star Colleen Ballinger leads The Hollywood Reporter’s Top Comedians chart, ruling the social media ranking dated July 11 by climbing 8-1.

The Top Comedians chart is a ranking of the most popular comedians on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart's methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended July 3.

Ballinger, also known for her character Miranda Sings (which spawned her own Netflix series, Haters Back Off), previously reached No. 2 on the Top Comedians chart in November 2017 but had not risen above No. 4 since. Her rise comes concurrent with the announcement that’s she’s pregnant with her first child (more on that below).

Previous No. 1 Kathy Griffin falls to No. 4, while four performers — Sarah Silverman, Bill Maher, Michael Ian Black and George Lopez — re-enter the ranking.
