RuPaul's Drag Race leads the nominations for the inaugural Critics' Choice Real TV Awards, which "recognize excellence in nonfiction, unscripted and reality programming across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms."
The show — presented by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association and NPACT, the trade organization serving the producers of nonfiction entertainment content — will air Sunday, June 9, on VH1. The show itself will take place Sunday, June 2, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
VH1's RuPaul's Drag Race garnered a total of five noms, including for best competition series and best host. Netflix's Queer Eye follows with four noms, followed by two other Netflix programs, Our Planet and Tidying Up With Marie Kondo, with three awards each.
Overall, Netflix leads all networks and streaming services with 33 nominations. NBC came in a distant second with 10.
Also up for best competition series are Making It (NBC), Project Runway (Bravo), Survivor: David vs. Goliath (CBS) and Top Chef (Bravo).
Meanwhile, in the category of best show host, RuPaul Charles will compete with Stephen Colbert (The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, CBS), James Corden (The Late Late Show With James Corden, CBS), Busy Philipps (Busy Tonight, E!) and Jerry Seinfeld (Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Netflix).
The awards show is adapted from and replaces the NPACT Impact Awards held last year. In addition to the critics' choices, the show will feature two fan-voted awards and three peer-selected honors given to those who have made significant contributions to the industry.
Bob Bain and Joey Berlin will serve as executive producers.
A full list of nominations follows.
