A behind-the-scenes look at the French fashion house's runway show in the Santa Monica mountains.

Dior headed to the mountains on Thursday evening.

Creative director Maria Chiuri Grazia presented the French fashion house's Cruise 2018 collection in the Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve in Calabasas. More than 800 guests attended, boarding shuttles in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica for a 45 minute ride to the remote meadow, once known as the Lasky Mesa, where scenes for Gone With the Wind were filmed. As a Dior spokeswoman tells The Hollywood Reporter, "There's no Uber whatsoever."

Grazia told THR that she wanted to host Dior's latest show in the mountains "to give an experience of an open space with nothing around," adding that the collection references the Lascaux cave paintings, painter Georgia O'Keeffe and feminist shamanic healer Vicki Noble, who hails from Berkeley, Calif..

In addition to the runway show, Dior transformed Gladstone's in Malibu into the "Dior Surf Club" on Wednesday and hosted a luncheon in Beverly Hills on Thursday. Guests were able to download the Dior-in-L.A. mobile app to keep track of all the festivities, find where to eat and shop locally and learn more about Dior's long history with Hollywood.
