D.L. Hughley lands the No. 1 spot on The Hollywood Reporter's Top Comedians chart dated Aug. 15, ruling the ranking for the first time since May.
The Top Comedians chart is a ranking of the most popular comedians on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart's methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended Aug. 7.
Hughley takes over the top spot from Ricky Gervais, who falls to No. 4.
Meanwhile, three comedians enter the ranking, two re-entering — Rosie O'Donnell and Mike Epps, at Nos. 6 and 9, respectively — and one debuting: Bo Burnham, at No. 8.
