Dwayne Johnson returns to the top spot of The Hollywood Reporter’s Top Actors chart after gaining in various Instagram metrics in the latest tracking week, according to MVPindex.

The Top Actors chart is a ranking of the most popular actors on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart’s methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended Aug. 22.

Johnson jumps 20 percent in new Instagram followers week over week, adding 584,000, while also gaining 14 percent in Instagram favorites, accruing 9.5 million in all – the chief culprits for his spike back to No. 1 on the chart after spending the previous week at No. 2.
