Halloween 2016: 'SNL,' 'Psycho' and More Specials to Watch on TV

From horror classics to all-new episodes of 'The Voice' and 'Jane the Virgin,' there's something for everyone planning to stay in Oct. 31.


  • Halloween (2007)

    AMC, 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

    This Rob Zombie-directed remake of the 1978 horror film of the same title follows the original film's plot and stars Tyler Mane as Michael Myers, an escapee of a mental institution who goes on a killing spree as he makes his way back to his hometown.

  • Saturday Night Live

    Comedy Central, 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

    If you liked last week's "Haunted Elevator" sketch (and Tom Hanks as the David Pumpkins), tune in to Comedy Central's SNL special Monday morning and re-watch a compilation of the show's past Halloween-themed sketches.

  • Charmed

    TNT, 9 a.m.-10 a.m.


    The popular series about three witch sisters may have ended back in 2006, but TNT will air a re-run of the 2004 episode "The Courtship of Wyatt's Father" for Charmed fans on Halloween morning. In the episode, Leo (Brian Kause) and Piper (Holly Marie Combs) are believed to be dead after a Darklighter leads them to another plane of existence.

  • The Simpsons

    FXX, 11:30 a.m.-12 a.m.


    Planning to ditch the parties and trick-or-treating this year? Endulge in an all-day marathon of Halloween-themed Simpsons episodes instead. All 25 of the show's annual Treehouse of Horror specials will replay from the morning until the clock strikes midnight.

  • The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

    Syfy, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.


    The horror film from director Drew Goddard follows a group of college friends (played by Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz and Jesse Williams) who vacation to a mysterious deserted cabin in a forest. 

  • The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

    Spike, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.


    The Oscar-winning thriller stars Jodie Foster as an ambitious FBI trainee who enlists the help of a psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer (Anthony Hopkins) in order to track down another serial killer who mysteriously skins all of his victims.

  • Poltergeist (2015)

    HBO, 1:10 p.m.-2:45 p.m.


    This 2015 film, a remake of the original 1982 horror flick, centers on a 6-year-old girl who get abducted by spirits haunting her family's home. 

  • The Shining (1980)

    IFC, 1:30 p.m.-4:45 p.m.


    The Stanley Kubrick-directed film, adapted from Stephen King's horror novel of the same title, stars Jack Nicholson as a hotel caretaker who, along with his wife and psychic son, witness eerie things unfold in a haunted and deserted hotel.

  • Psycho (1960)

    BBC, 7 p.m.-9:30 p.m.


    Alfred Hitchcock's horror classic about a psychologically unstable motel owner (Anthony Perkins) who gets entangled in a murder case involving one of his guests.

  • The Voice

    NBC, 8 p.m.-10 p.m. (*New)

    The knockout rounds continue with advisors Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus narrow down their teams.

  • Dancing With the Stars

    ABC, 8 p.m.-10 p.m. (*New)

    Episode 11 of the show's 23rd season will feature Halloween-themed performances from the remaining contestants.

  • South Park

    Comedy Central, 8 p.m.-11 p.m.


    A pink eye epidemic and pirate ghosts plague Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny in past Halloween episodes of the animated show replaying on Comedy Central Monday night.

  • Jane the Virgin

    The CW, 9 p.m.-10 p.m. (*New)

    In "Chapter Forty-Seven" of the series, Jane (Gina Rodriguez) continues to work on her thesis, but decides to incorporate Alba's estranged sister. Meanwhile, Rogelio (Jamie Camil) attempts to pitch "The Passions of Santos" to The CW in hopes of gaining crossover stardom.

  • Full Frontal With Samantha Bee

    TBS, 10:30 p.m.-11 p.m. (*New)
