After three weeks at No. 1 on The Hollywood Reporter’s Top TV Personalities chart, Jimmy Fallon loses the ranking’s lead to Jake Tapper, who vaults 5-1 on the Oct. 24-dated tally.

The Top TV Personalities chart is a ranking of the most popular TV personalities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart's methodology blends social engagement on the platforms with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. TV personalities are defined here as performers primarily known for their appearances on their own TV series, including hosts of entertainment/news shows. The latest tracking week ended Oct. 16.

Tapper’s week at No. 1 is his sixth, and it’s his first reign since August.

Fallon falls to No. 2, followed by Tyra Banks, Chelsea Handler and Jonathan Van Ness in the top five.

“So campaigning and spending time with a superstar rapper is inappropriate while Americans are reeling from a major storm, or…?” Tapper tweeted Oct. 11 in a post quote-tweeting a 2012 tweet in which President Donald Trump called out President Barack Obama for campaigning with Jay-Z and Bruce Springsteen following Hurricane Sandy, drawing parallels to Trump’s meeting with Kanye West amid Hurricane Michael, which made landfall in the U.S. a day before. The tweet landed 52,000 favorites, helping boost Tapper 130 percent in favorites in the Oct. 10-16 tracking week.
