Raise your hand if you’re surprised: Jimmy Kimmel, host of the 2018 Academy Awards, retakes the No. 1 spot on The Hollywood Reporter’s Top TV Personalities chart, scoring a significant bump in social media activity on the ranking dated March 14.

The Top TV Personalities chart is a ranking of the most popular TV personalities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart's methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. TV personalities are defined here as performers primarily known for their appearances on their own TV series, including hosts of entertainment/news shows. The latest tracking week ended March 6.

Kimmel rules the ranking for the first time since last December, earning his fourth week at No. 1 in all (the chart began in June 2017).

He leads Joanna Gaines, Gordon Ramsay, Tyra Banks and Chelsea Handler in the top five, while previous No. 1 personality Jake Tapper falls to No. 7.
