Joanna Gaines Retakes No. 1 Spot on Top TV Personalities Social Media Ranking
Gaines, the co-star of “Fixer Upper,” takes the top spot on the chart, which ranks the most popular TV personalities based on data from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus.

Fixer Upper star Joanna Gaines reclaims her throne atop The Hollywood Reporter’s Top TV Personalities chart, rising 6-1 on the ranking dated Feb. 21.
The Top TV Personalities chart is a ranking of the most popular TV personalities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart's methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. TV personalities are defined here as performers primarily known for their appearances on their own TV series, including hosts of entertainment/news shows. The latest tracking week ended Feb. 13.
Gaines, who previously led the tally just over a month ago (Jan. 17), leads Tyra Banks, who re-enters the chart at No. 2.
Previous No. 1, The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon, falls to No. 4 after leading for two weeks. He’s joined by Jake Tapper (No. 3) and Gordon Ramsay (No. 5) in the top five.

Banks’ 74 percent jump in chart points is due mainly to an 84 percent boost in Instagram favorites, racking up 1.5 million overall. The TV host and model posted from New York’s Black Panther premiere and congratulated Danielle Herrington for becoming the second African-American model to earn the cover of Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue (following Banks herself).
