Kevin Hart Leads Top Comedians Chart, Adam Sandler Re-Enters
The chart, which ranks the most popular comedians based on data from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, has been led by Hart since its June 2017 inception.

Kevin Hart, D.L. Hughley and Joe Rogan hold at Nos. 1-3, respectively, on The Hollywood Reporter’s Top Comedians chart for a second week in a row on the tally dated Feb. 7.
The Top Comedians chart is a ranking of the most popular comedians on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart's methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended Jan. 30.
Below the top three, the chart looks a bit different than the Jan. 31-dated ranking, with Adam Sandler (No. 5), Martin Lawrence (No. 6) and Kumail Nanjiani (No. 9) re-entering, Sandler for the first time since August.

Nanjiani’s Jan. 29 tweet that art, music, movies and books “have always been political. Keep your ‘Keep your politics out of BLANK’ bs outta my face” helped him to a 16 percent increase in retweets and was the most-engaged-with tweet by a comedian in the tracking week.

Sandler’s re-entry on the chart – only his third appearance and his first since the Aug. 9-dated ranking – marks a new peak, after he previously ranked at No. 9 twice. His re-entry comes via a return to Instagram (his Jan. 23 posts were his first since Dec. 31, 2017), as he posted from his Do-Over Tour, a comedy tour also featuring David Spade, Nick Swardson and Rob Schneider, receiving 1.1 million favorites overall.
