Kevin Hart’s Instagram Apology Boosts on Top Comedians Social Media Ranking

Hart maintains his No. 1 on the chart, which ranks the most popular comedians based on data from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus.

A 151 percent gain in social media conversation, according to MVPindex, helps Kevin Hart maintain his No. 1 on The Hollywood Reporter’s Top Comedians chart dated Sept. 20.

The Top Comedians chart is a ranking of the most popular comedians on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart’s methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended Sept. 19.

Hart reigns for a 17th week on the chart as news surfaced of a potential extortion case after he reportedly cheated on his wife, posting a video apology to Instagram.   Meanwhile, Amy Schumer, Chris Hardwick and Martin Lawrence break back into the top 10.
