Marlon Wayans Debuts at No. 2 on Top Comedians Social Media Ranking

The comedian and star of NBC's "Marlon" makes his first appearance on the chart, which ranks the most popular comedians based on data from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus.

Marlon Wayans debuts on The Hollywood Reporter's Top Comedians chart dated Sept. 6 at No. 2 following increased attention around (and a postabout) his new NBC comedy series Marlon, which premiered Aug. 16.

The Top Comedians chart is a ranking of the most popular comedians on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart's methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended Aug. 29.

Meanwhile, Kevin Hart continues his dominance on the chart, leading for a 14th straight week.

    Wayans continued to promote his new NBC comedy Marlon, which premiered Aug. 16, while thanking viewers for making its second episode the most-watched week-two summer comedy in a decade, drawing 889,000 Facebook post likes and 617,000 Instagram favorites.
