Meanwhile, Chelsea Handler returns to No. 1 on the chart, which ranks the most popular TV personalities based on data from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus.

Chelsea Handler returns to No. 1 on The Hollywood Reporter’s Top TV Personalities chart, while multiple personalities from the various New Year’s Eve televised celebrations either re-enter or debut on the ranking dated Jan. 10.

The Top TV Personalities chart is a ranking of the most popular TV personalities on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart's methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. TV personalities are defined here as performers primarily known for their appearances on their own TV series, including hosts of entertainment/news shows. The latest tracking week ended Jan. 2.

Ryan Seacrest, who helmed ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, makes his first appearance on the chart at No. 4, while CNN New Year’s Eve co-anchors Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen rank at Nos. 8 and 9, respectively, Cohen debuting while Cooper re-enters.

Cohen co-hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage for the first time after replacing Kathy Griffin, the Cohen-Anderson Cooper pairing announced in October. He received a boost of 132 percent in Twitter mentions, much of which occurred during the NYE broadcast, as he and Cooper welcomed guests such as Dave Chappelle, John Mayer, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. The broadcast was cable’s most-watched of its kind that evening.
