Your guide to shopping in L.A. for the week ahead.
Summer time, and the weather is too hot to be sitting in a stuffy house. Get some relief from the July swelter by checking out the best (and air-conditioned) store openings and sales this week.
Smashbox Studios is opening a brand new space in Venice, just a few miles down the road from its Culver City headquarters.
The new space isn't your average makeup store, but rather a "photo-studio inspired makeup experience" with plenty of special in-store perks, like personalized lip-gloss mixing and a 3-D printed lipstick design. The Smashbox Studios store will also offer beauty classes as well as professional photo services and other events.

Allbirds, a New Zealnd shoe company which uses all-natural materials, is opening a pop-up at DTLA's Grand Central Market, open from July 12 - 31.
In honor of the pop-up, the brand has also launched three new styles inspired by three L.A. institutions: Wexler’s Deli, P.F. Candle Co. and Boyce Studio. Each style retails for $95. In return, each of the above L.A. favorites has also created a limited-edition Allbirds-inspired piece. Wexler's Deli will offer a special New Zealand salmon dish; P.F. Candle Co. is launching an Allbirds candle with scents native to the land down under, and Boyce Studio is offering a wood succulent planter emblazoned with the Allbirds logo.
The collection is part of the company's ongoing "Allbirds and..." collaborations with various cities and their local businesses.

After successful collaborations with Madewell and Pop & Suki, luggage brand Away is officially opening its first brick-and-mortar storefront right here in L.A. on July 14.
The company, whose hard shell suitcases feature a built-in battery which enable you to charge any USB device while you're on the go, has been praised by Goop and become a favorite among the jet-setting blogger community, so it's no surprise that their line of luggage has taken off with the on-the-go L.A. crowd.

Weddington Way, as its name suggests, is looking to simplify your wedding by streamlining the process of looking for bridesmaids dresses.

Balmain has opened a West Coast flagship store which will carry its men's, women's and children's collections, as well as the complete, recently re-launched accessories line. The exterior of the store, located on Melrose Place in West Hollywood, is dark-green stucco, while the interior is inspired by Villa Balmain, the Italian vacation home of founder Pierre Balmain.
"My California friends introduced me to the singular lifestyle, relaxed glamour and exhilarating openness, diversity and freedom that one finds [in Los Angeles]," said creative director Olivier Rousteing in a release. "And, of course, that intoxicating West Coast spirit has been reflected in my collections. So, in many ways coming to L.A. is almost as much as a homecoming as the opening of a new flagship.”
