When it comes to the element of surprise — a surprise slime attack, that is — no awards show does it better than the Kids' Choice Awards.
Since its inception in 1988, the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards have been known for sliming even the most A-list of stars. From distinguished movie stars like Harrison Ford to soccer legends like David Beckham, Kids' Choice has proven time and time again that no star is safe from the inevitable green goo.
In anticipation of the upcoming Kids' Choice Sport Awards, which will be hosted by Russell Wilson and air July 22, THR takes a look back at some of the most memorable slimes in Kids' Choice history.

After lifting a mysterious orb from its place onstage, Ford was drenched in green slime, much to the audience's delight.

Katy Perry was in for a shocking surprise when she was forcefully hosed by a box full of green slime. Donning a blue wig and a bright yellow dress, the "California Gurl" was so taken aback by the slime attack that she nearly fell to the floor. However, the singer laughed off the incident, proceeding to present the award for favorite movie actress.

David Beckham
Joined by his sons Romeo and Cruz, soccer star David Beckham was drenched in a uniquely colored gold slime after being honored with the Kids' Choice Legend Award. The trio were visibly stunned by the surprise, and while the eldest Beckham seemed to find humor in the situation, young Cruz seemed to be worried over his ruined clothes. While Beckham was the first to be honored with golden slime, sports stars such as Kobe Bryant and Michael Phelps later received the same treatment.

Jack Black and Orlando Bloom

In her fifth year hosting the Kids' Choice Awards, Rosie O'Donnell honored the members of boyband 'NSYNC by sliming them under a waterfall of green goo. That wouldn't be Justin Timberlake's last encounter with Nickelodeon's iconic slime, as the star later went on to be slimed on his own years later.

Host Rosie O'Donnell tricked Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise into thinking he was sliming someone else, when he actually ended up covered in the green goo himself. O'Donnell hugged Cruise, joining him under the stream of slime as the credits rolled out on the 2001 Kids' Choice Awards.
