Social analytics company MVPindex ranks the top 10 news and variety television shows of the fall season, analyzing each show’s social activity from Sept-Dec 2015.

Methodology: Rankings are determined by MPVindex’s proprietary algorithm weighing reach (fans, followers, etc.), engagement (likes, comments, shares, retweets, favorites, etc.) and conversation (positive/negative sentiment across the Web.

    The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’s viral content is some of the most-shared of any show on television. The recent video with Adele and The Roots was shared more than 950k times on Facebook. The Tonight Show also holds the title of the most talked about show on Facebook.

    NBC Universal

    The Today Show has the third highest mention rate among TV shows on Twitter, behind @midnight (naturally, given the name), and The Tonight Show. An announcement about Justin Bieber’s appearance on the show is the top tweet this season, with almost 30k retweets.

    Good Morning America has one of the highest comment rates of any show on TV. This season’s top post, liked 211k times, showed Central Park’s fall foliage.
