Jamie Mizrahi, who also styled Syrian refugee and 'Watani: My Homeland' star Hala Kamil for the Oscars, is just one of the emerging tastemakers who made an impact during awards season.

  • Ade Samuel

The New York native is the one behind Black-ish star and rising fashionista Yara Shahidi, 17, who wore "youthful, knockout" Naeem Khan multicolor stripes at the SAG Awards. Samuel also made a splash with Big Sean's "Tony Montana-inspired" Zegna suit at the Grammys — the look was a trending topic on Twitter during the red-carpet show. The former fashion assistant worked at W Magazine, Teen Vogue and CR Fashionbook before taking on celebrity styling and launching her luxury, self-named shoe line. Says Samuel of her passion for clothing, "As a woman of Nigerian decent, textures, patterns and fabrics are a huge part of my culture. Through watching my granny and mother, I developed a keen sense of what works for the body."

  • Dani + Emma

The duo, who met while assisting on celebrity and editorial shoots, say their top look was Black-ish winner Tracee Ellis Ross, 44, in silvery Zuhair Murad Couture at the Golden Globes where Ellis Ross picked up the best actress statuette. "Her hands were dripping in diamonds," says Dani of the statement rings on all 10 digits. Beyond the red carpet the team regularly contributes to Interview Magazine and style campaigns for AG Jeans. "We work together with such a love for the art of styling and hunger to rapidly grow and learn," says Emma.

  • Erica Cloud

The former assistant of THR's 2017 No. 1 stylist Karla Welch — she worked with Welch for more than a decade — went out on her own in 2016, dressing This Is Us' Mandy Moore, 32, in "statement-making" caped Naeem Khan (whoa, sexy plunge!) at the Globes. "It was the first dress we tried, and it fit perfectly," says Cloud. Adds Moore: "I felt like a superhero, no pun intended, with the cape." Cloud's dream client? Parker Posey: "She is all-around #goals."

  • Jamie Mizrahi

Katy Perry's glam guru, who also works with the Stallone sisters (Sophia, 20, Sistine, 18, and Scarlett, 14), made headlines when she styled Syrian refugee and Watani: My Homeland star Hala Kamil in a custom Brandon Maxwell two-piece gown and lilac velvet hijab for the Academy Awards. "That was a very special moment especially given the recent issues with United States immigration," says the Los Angeles-based stylist. Adding, "Through fashion, I was able to contribute something positive to an issue that’s a lot bigger than me." Mizrahi began her career in New York working at the Albright Fashion Library and for Vogue. Upon moving to Los Angeles, she assisted stylist Petra Flannery (No. 2 on THR's Top 25 list) and helped launch Violet Grey, where she met her first client, Eva Mendes.

  • Nicky Yates

The London-based fashion director of ES Magazine keeps The Crown's Foy, 32, looking elegant in Valentino and Roksanda. Says Yates of the star's extra-twinkly custom Erdem at the Golden Globes: "The pink sequins started to sparkle [under the lights] when Claire went up to collect her award." The Australia native credits her grandmother for her love of fashion, "At 90, she’s still the chicest woman I know." London-based Yates interned at several fashion magazines before landing on Harper's Bazaar's masthead, though her first solo-styling gig for the publication got off to a rocky start: "The model broke my nose pulling on a Manolo Blahnik boot," laughs Yates. "But, I got the job done — with two cotton wool plugs up my nose!"
