'90s-Set Fashion Book Focused on Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs in the Works as TV Series (Exclusive)

Champagne Supernovas, a 2014 book that traces the rise of style icons Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen and fashion and drugs in the 1990s, is in development as a TV series after Filmula’s Johnny Lin acquired the rights.

Lin and The Storyhouse’s Ben Shields Catlin will executive produce. The Lin/Catlin duo will be developing, financing and producing the entertainment property.

Written by Maureen Callahan, Champagne Supernovas follows the journeys of the fashion icons from relative obscurity to superstardom and documents the dangers of a wild, meteoric rise. It's a behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced fashion industry and the changes still influencing pop culture today.

"Our goal is to ultimately bring the true narrative of the iconic '90s New York fashion era that reinvented the industry to the audience, and we will do a great job of telling it. As we are aggressively developing, producing and financing film and TV projects, Champagne Supernova will be the first of many to come."

Johnny Lin is currently producing and financing The Wild Geese and Rise through New Republic Pictures, his joint venture with Brian Oliver. Catlin has a growing slate of projects through his production company, The Storyhouse, and, over the course of his career, has been a feature production executive at Perfect Storm, IM Global and Overture Films.

Lin and Catlin were repped by Hirsch Wallerstein, and Callahan by Paradigm and DeFiore and Company.
