ABC Buys 'White Sheep' Family Comedy (Exclusive)

'BoJack Horseman' duo Jordan Young and Elijah Aron will pen the script, which is based on the former's life.

ABC is looking for another family to add to its roster.

The network is teaming with BoJack Horseman duo Jordan Young and Elijah Aron for comedy White Sheep, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The project is based on Young's life and follows a teenager's struggles to be the one nice guy in a family full of jerks. The comedy is described as family show about unapologetic, anti-helicopter parents Gail and Bruce, their daughter Sarah who remarkably finds ways to take advantage of her parents tough love philosophy and their optimistic, nice guy son who begins to realize that his parents are very far from perfect.

Young and Aron will pen the script and executive produce the Universal Television effort alongside Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan.

Young and Aron are currently consulting producers on Netflix's animated Will Arnett comedy BoJack Horseman and are supervising Comedy Central pilot Lee's Kill List. Their credits include Fox's Raising Hope, FX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and ABC's Better Off Ted. They're repped by UTA.

Family comedies have been one of the development season's biggest trends this year as broadcast networks look for new dynamics that aren't currently on the air.
