ABC is extending the seasons for seven of its dramas and comedies.

The network has ordered two extra episodes for veterans Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family and The Middle, as well as rookie Black-ish and sophomore effort The Goldbergs, bringing their total episode counts for the season to 24.

Castle has received an additional episode order, bringing its season seven total to 23.

Sunday drama Resurrection will get one extra hour, leaving its total second-season episode count at 14.

This comes on the same day Once Upon a Time co-creator Adam Horowitz revealed that the upcoming eighth episode would be a supersized two-hour broadcast airing during November sweep, bringing the fairy-tale drama's fourth season to 23 episodes.

It's not unusual for networks to bulk up its originals early in the television season, as The CW did earlier this week when it picked up The Flash for 10 additional episodes (equaling a total of 23 episodes) and not the traditional back-nine pickup.
