ABC has set its summer schedule, announcing premiere dates for four new series and returning favorites.

Limited series Black Box, starring Kelly Reilly, will kick off the season on Thursday, April 24, taking over the slot occupied by Shonda Rhimes' red-hot Scandal, which will have ended its run the week prior.

The network's lineup includes five scripted series as broadcasters increasingly add original programming to summer rosters previously dominated by unscripted fare as part of the larger push for year-round originals.

ABC's big singing competition series Rising Star will get the prime Sunday at 9 p.m. slot starting in June following a two-hour premiere of Wipeout. Jimmy Kimmel's NBA Finals specials will air in primetime each night of the series starting with Game 1 on June 5.
