Syfy's pilot Resident Alien has found its lead actor in Firefly and Rogue One fan favorite Alan Tudyk.

Four other actors — Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund and Levi Fiehler — have also joined the darkly comedic fish-out-of-water story, based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name and produced by Universal Cable Productions.

Tudyk will play Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle, a reclusive resident of a small Colorado town — as well as the alien who takes over his body after crashing on Earth. When the doctor is murdered, the alien has to put his secret mission aside and take the doctor's place. As he inhabits the doctor's body, he'll start to wonder whether humans might be worth saving after all.

Tudyk also has a role in the DC Universe series Doom Patrol as villain Mr. Nobody and recently recurred on Amazon's The Tick and BBC America's Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. He is repped by The Coronel Group and Gersh.

Tomko will play a resident of Patience, Colorado, named Asta Twelvetrees, who will complicate the alien's mission considerably. The Sneaky Pete and Once Upon a Time actress is repped by Bohemia Group and KMR Talent.

Reynolds (The Closer, Murder in the First) is Sheriff Mike Thompson, who runs Patience with an iron fist, even breaking into people's houses when he suspects they're up to something, which is pretty much always. He is repped by Industry Entertainment, The Kohner Agency and Morris Yorn.

Wetterlund (People of Earth, Silicon Valley) will play former Olympic snowboarder turned ski patrol member D'Arcy Morin, who uses a mortar launcher to clear avalanches and occasionally just blow off some steam. She's repped by CAA and 3 Arts Entertainment.

Fiehler (Mars, The Fosters) plays recent college grad Ben Hawthorne, who ran for mayor to pad his resumé and now finds himself dealing with the fallout from a grisly murder. He's repped by Defining Artists, Luber Roklin and Stone Genow.

Family Guy veteran Chris Sheridan adapted the comic by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse. He executive produces Resident Alien along with Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg of Dark Horse Entertainment and Amblin TV's Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.
