Netflix and one of the stars of Queer Eye have designs on the fashion competition subgenre of unscripted TV.

The streamer has ordered 10 episodes of Next in Fashion, to be hosted by Queer Eye style expert Tan France and model and designer Alexa Chung. Stylist and fashion editor Elizabeth Stewart and Instagram director of fashion partnerships Eva Chen have signed on as guest judges, with more to be announced.

Like Project Runway and other shows in the field, Next in Fashion will start with a pool of designers and put them through a series of fashion challenges "centering on a different trend or design style that has influenced the way the entire world dresses."

Netflix says the 18 designers have worked for major brands and dressed A-list celebrities. They'll compete for a $250,000 prize and the chance to debut a collection with retailer Net-A-Porter.

Robin Ashbrook and Yasmin Shackleton (Masterchef) are executive producing Next in Fashion. Adam Cooper is a co-exec producer.

Netflix is one of several outlets pursuing a fashion series in the vein of Project Runway (which recently returned to original home Bravo after a long run on Lifetime). Former Project Runway stars Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn are working on a show with a viewer shopping component for Amazon. MGM Television and Mark Burnett are also prepping a show with stylist Rachel Zoe that will include chances for viewers to buy the designs they see; it doesn't have an outlet yet.
