Apple continues to push its content envelope.

The tech giant has handed out a straight-to-series order for its first docuseries, Home.

The 10-episode, hourlong docuseries offers viewers a never-before-seen look inside the world's most extraordinary homes, and unveils the boundary-pushing imagination of the visionaries who dreamed and built them.

The series hails from Matt Tyrnauer (Valentino: The Last Emperor) and Corey Reeser of Altimeter Films; Matthew Weaver (Chef's Table), Ian Orefice and Bruce Gersh from Time Inc. Productions as well as Luxury Retreats CEO Joe Poulin. Tyrnauer will direct the docuseries that is being produced by Altimeter Films, Time Inc. Productions and Media Weaver Entertainment.

The order for Home arrives as Apple, under content chiefs Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht, has begun a spending spree on scripted fare that already includes a Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon morning show drama, an Amazing Stories anthology from Steven Spielberg and Bryan Fuller and a space drama from Battlestar Galactica's Ron Moore. Still remaining to be determined is just how the iPhone maker will roll out original episodes.
