ABC Studios International has its first series.

A year and a half after promoting Keli Lee to managing director of international content and talent, the banner has landed a straight-to-series order for Australian drama Harrow.

The 10-episode project about a forensic pathologist will be filmed in Brisbane and air on the Australian Broadcasting Co. The drama is being produced in partnership with ABC Studios International, Hoodlum Entertainment, the Australian Broadcasting Co. and Screen Queensland. It's unclear if Harrow will air on ABC stateside.

Stephen M. Irwin and Leigh McGrath created the drama. Irwin will pen the script and executive produce alongside Hoodlum Entertainment CEOs Tracey Robertson and Nathan Mayfield.

"As our first foray into international production under ABC Studios International, we’re thrilled to produce Harrow for global distribution. A compelling story and great characters resonate all over the world, and Harrow is a show that global audiences will want to watch," Lee said in a statement.

Harrow centers on the brilliant and unorthodox forensic pathologist Dr. Daniel Harrow, whose total disregard for authority and his unfailing empathy for the dead help him solve even the most bizarre of cases. He is driven to give victims a voice and will bend every rule to get to the truth of what happened to them. But when a terrible secret from his own past threatens his family, his career and himself, Harrow needs all his wit, wile and forensic genius not to solve a crime, but to keep it buried. Darkly funny, totally irreverent and always surprising, Harrow is an addictive new crime show. Production will begin in August. A premiere date has not yet been determined.

"Hoodlum is very excited to partner with ABC Studios International on this thrilling TV series," said Robertson. "Together we will bring the character of Harrow to life in a series that is set to hook audiences at every turn with unique cases to solve and an intriguing twist on the crime show genre."

Lee, who previously was executive vp casting, was promoted in November 2015 to oversee international content and talent for the ABC Entertainment Group. She relocated to London for the job, where she is tasked with identifying content and talent internationally.

The Harrow pact is the second collaboration for ABC Studios and Australia-based Hoodlum. The two companies produce ABC anthology Secrets and Lies, which is awaiting word on a third-season renewal after wrapping its run earlier this season.
