'Big Brother OTT': Shelby Opens Up About Why Morgan Should Win the Game
Tonight is the night. Either Kryssie, Jason or Morgan will be $250,000 richer after Big Brother: Over the Top's first finale.
Who will be the Big Brother: Over the Top winner? Host Julie Chen tells The Hollywood Reporter, "I will be happy whether it's Jason or Morgan. I really will."
And while some Big Brother alumni are pulling for their favorite, Jason Roy, to be this season's winner, Morgan's ally Shelby has a different outcome in mind.
Shelby tells THR, "She should be able to pull it off. She was the underdog the whole time!"
As for her take on Jason? "He said some things about burning down my family's house and stealing my family's Social Security numbers," said Shelby. "He said he was going to harass my mom so bad she's going to need a restraining order. It's really that kind of stuff that goes way beyond the game that makes me angry."
It's been a week since you were evicted. How are you feeling? Are you still crying?
Yeah, I've been crying, but it's for different reasons, cough, cough, the election. (Laughs.) It's really great to have my freedom back and I'm just trying to get back to my normal life.
When your diary room leaked, what was your reaction? You were obviously upset.
I was really, really angry! It seemed like all of the odds were already against me. I knew one of my alliance members was going home and it was a double eviction. The one card I had left in my deck was revealed to the whole house, so I was not very happy!
Similarly you had a technical difficulty during a head of household competition.
I definitely felt like production was working against me after the diary room leak and the problem with the mirror on the same night. That was a stressful time. (Laughs.)
Which houseguest had the toughest road in the house?
I would say Scott. He was a have-not twice, he had to be in that sand pit, he had everybody blame that fight between Justin and Monte on him and ostracize him.
If America didn't have so much involvement this season, would we be looking at a different final three?
Yeah, we probably would because America's nominee went home more times than not. I think the HoH would have probably kept their power without America being involved and the final three would definitely be different. I think Alex would definitely be in there, probably Scott, and I guess I have to put somebody from the other side in there and it might still be Jason.
You wouldn't say you?
I don't know! Maybe. (Laughs.)
What was the relationship between you and Jason really like? It looked like you wanted a friendship at the beginning of the game.
Yeah, I thought he was the funniest person in the house, but turns out he just has a black hole where his heart is supposed to be. I don't know, I don't want to say too much, but I am not a fan of Jason.
You cried when you realized you were probably going home. Why didn't you try to make a plea to Justin and Jason?
I already knew how they were going to vote. Why the hell would they ever want to vote Kryssie out? We knew since double-eviction night that she was going to be in the finale and take third place. I knew there was no point and I just wanted to make sure Morgan was set up to be in the finale.
Why should Morgan win the game?
She has a lot of reasons why she should win. She was the underdog, she won combo comps that were physical and mental, she was loyal to her alliance even when we were so outnumbered. She's played a really good game. Alex and I were trying to do a little bit of campaigning for her, but I think she should be able to pull it off. She was the underdog the whole time! Everybody overlooked her and thought she wasn't playing the game at all, and now she's in the finale.
How many more rap videos do you have?
(Laughs.) I'm probably done after that one.
Are you going to be joining Twitter at all?
There already was a fake Twitter of me.
Yeah, it was creepy! I have no idea who was running it. I do have a Twitter — I think it has like five followers or something — but no, I don't plan on doing Twitter after this. I don't really want to see everybody talking about how much they hate me.
Now that you've been out of the house, you've been able to see what your houseguests have done and said about you. Has anything made you mad?
Probably the thing that made me the angriest was Jason making threats against my family. I try not to look back and watch it, but people send me what he's been saying. He said some things about burning down my family's house and stealing my family's Social Security numbers. He said he was going to harass my mom so bad she's going to need a restraining order. It's really that kind of stuff that goes way beyond the game that makes me angry.
Who will you stay in touch with after the show and who will you not talk to?
I will stay in touch with Morgan and Alex and maybe Monte and Scott, but obviously I was a lot closer with Morgan and Alex. And no offense to everybody else in the house, but I really don't have any interest in keeping in touch with them. I wasn't friends with them inside the house, they weren't very nice; there's just no reason to become friends with them after this. I have enough friends.
What will Shelby on a regular season of Big Brother look like?
Ooh! It would be tough to come back on a different season, especially because they're so much longer and I wouldn't have the secret lawyer twist to help protect me in the game. I guess I would have to get in shape so I could actually stand a chance in physical competitions. Can I bring both of the sisters with me? (Laughs.)
