ABC's Big Sky put up middling ratings numbers for its premiere: 4.15 million people watched the drama the nigh of its Nov. 17 debut, and it drew a 0.68 rating in the key ad demographic of adults 18-49. Both figures put it in the middle of the broadcast pack for that week, where it ranked 40th in viewers on Nielsen-measured networks (braodcast or cable) and 36th in adults 18-49.

After a week of delayed viewing, the David E. Kelley series looks a lot better. Big Sky more than doubled its audience over seven days, improving to 8.71 million viewers and a 1.47 in the 18-49 demo, good for 17th place in both measures. The 4.55 million total viewers the premiere added is the biggest such gain for any program so far this season.

The week of Nov. 16-22 also saw 14 network shows at least double their initial 18-49 ratings, ranging from lightly watched CW shows (Swamp Thing and Penn & Teller: Fool Us) to Big Four mainstays like NBC's This Is Us (1.2 to 2.4) and The Good Doctor (0.6 to 1.3). Three shows — Big Sky, CBS' SWAT and The Good Doctor — also grew by 100 percent or more in total viewers.
