Burn Notice Season 6 Episodic - H 2013

Michael Westen's story has reached its final chapter.

Burn Notice, USA Network's veteran spy drama, will end its run after the upcoming seventh season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Created by Matt Nix, Burn Notice stars Jeffrey Donovan, Gabrielle Anwar, Bruce Campbell, Sharon Gless and Coby Bell. It will surpass the 100-episode milestone this summer -- an especially difficult feat for a cable drama to achieve. (Watch a new promo touting Burn Notice's final season below.)

In hopes of continuing his relationship with USA, Nix is developing a new medical drama titled Complications, which is centered on an emergency room doctor whose life drastically changes following a traumatic experience, THR has confirmed.

Burn Notice has had an incredible run over the last six years, and we could not be more proud of the extraordinary talent both in front of and behind the cameras who have collectively made this show into one of the most popular and lauded shows on TV today,” said Chris McCumber, USA Network co-president.

“From day one, Burn Notice's characters, storylines and mythology have consistently captivated a massive audience, and this final season will raise the stakes even higher, leading up to a spectacular series finale,” added Jeff Wachtel, USA Network co-president.

Debuting in the summer of 2007, Burn Notice began as the top scripted series in the key demos of adults 18-49, 25-54 and in total viewers. It has seen its ratings rise during the course of its run, reaching a series-best 7.6 million viewers in the middle of the third season.

In April 2011, USA debuted a standalone TV movie Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe, starring fan-favorite Campbell (who plays Sam Axe) and directed by Donovan. A digital graphic novel, A New Day, was recognized with an AdAge Vanguard Award in 2011.

Nix executive produces with Mikkel Bondesen, Alfredo Barrios, Craig O'Neil, Ben Watkins and Terry Miller. Fox TV Studios, Fabrik Entertainment and Flying Glass of Milk Productions produce the Miami-based production.

Though USA is closing the doors on the drama, the network is open to considering more Burn Notice in the future, perhaps in different iterations. In April, sister network Esquire announced it would air Burn Notice as a weekday strip in the early evenings.

The news comes as USA prepares for the premieres of its returning series and the debut of rookie drama Graceland. The network's Psych will wrap its seventh season May 29 and has been renewed for a season eight.

Burn Notice premieres season seven June 6 on USA.
