CBS is expanding its relationship with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions.

In a competitive situation, the network is teaming with the production company to adapt Ben Schwartz and Laura Moses' book Things You Should Already Know About Dating, You Fucking Idiot as a single-camera comedy. The project, which is in development, is the second sale to come from CBS Television Studios' overall deal with Gary Sanchez Productions, which recently exited its longtime home at Universal Television.

Additionally, Gary Sanchez Productions' female-centric production arm, Gloria Sanchez, is poised to shop a comedy starring Isla Fisher (Home and Away, Now You See Me). Erica Rivinoja (South Park) will pen the script for the comedy produced by CBS Television Studios. Jane Szymanski (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates) is on board to direct the project, whose logline is being kept under wraps. Fisher will also exec produce.

Things You Should Already Know is based on the forthcoming book (due Oct. 17) by Schwartz and Moses. The duo co-created the TV take and will pen the script together. Schwartz and Moses executive produce alongside Gary Sanchez Productions' Ferrell, McKay and Kevin Messick. The comedy is set in today's culture of disposable love and follows a group of millennials who realize they have to put down their phones and learn how to be actual adults if they don't want to die alone.

Schwartz (Parks and Recreation, House of Lies) was most recently nominated for an acting Emmy in shortform comedy for Funny or Die's The Earliest Show, which he also created. He is repped by WME, Haven Entertainment and Gang Tyre.

Things You Should Already Know is the second project at CBS Television Studios for Gary Sanchez Productions. The company also scored a straight-to-series order at CBS All Access for No Activity, the first scripted comedy for the network's SVOD platform. No Activity will launch before year's end and air between the first and second half of Star Trek: Discovery on the platform.

Ferrell is repped by UTA and Mosaic; McKay is with WME
