'Chicago Med' Adds 'Jurassic World' Actor as Series Regular
The staff of Chicago Medical is expanding once again.
Jurassic World actor Brian Tee has joined Chicago Med as a new series regular, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The second spinoff from Chicago Fire, Chicago Med centers on the courageous team of doctors who hold the city's most explosive hospital together. Tackling unique new cases inspired by topical events, they forge fiery relationships in the pulse-pounding pandemonium of the emergency room, and through it all, will welcome familiar faces from the local fire and police departments.
Tee will play a resident at the hospital who hails from the Windy City and found his calling in medicine after several tours of duty as an Army medic.
Dick Wolf, Matt Olmstead, Danielle Gelber, Peter Jankowski, Michael Brandt, Derek Haas and Andrew Dettmann will exec produce the series, which hails from Universal TV and Wolf Films.
Tee joins a cast that includes Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Laurie Holden, Nick Gehlfuss, Yaya DaCosta and Colin Donnell.
Both Donnell and Tee did not appear in April's backdoor pilot for the spinoff and were cast after starring in NBC's failed pilot Love Is a Four Letter Word.
Similarly, Chicago P.D. stars Sophia Bush, Jesse Lee Soffer and Patrick John Flueger were all plucked from NBC's Hatfields & McCoys pilot. Last season, Kara Killmer joined Chicago Fire as a new paramedic shortly after appearing in the network's drama pilot Tin Man.
Tee's other credits include The Wolverine and Grimm, as well as a recent episode of Chicago P.D. He will next appear in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, playing villain Shredder. He is repped by Abrams Artists Agency, DiSante-Frank & Company and Behr Abramson.
Chicago Med debuts Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 10 p.m. on NBC.
