USA Network and Dubsmash Team for 'Chrisley Knows Best' Branded Channel (Exclusive)
USA Network and Dubsmash are teaming up.
The basic cable network is the first to launch a branded channel on the popular video messaging app for Chrisley Knows Best, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Tied to the new season of the hit reality show, which kicks off on June 2, the channel will feature 30 of the most popular soundbites from the first two seasons.
The entire Chrisley family will create their own videos throughout the season, which will be shared with fans through the show's official social media handles. Fans will also be encouraged to make their own videos, which could be shared socially by the Chrisley family.
“Todd Chrisley and his family have cemented their place in pop culture and have some of the best one-liners on television” said USA Network executive vp marketing and digital Alexandra Shapiro. “This partnership with the wildly popular app Dubsmash gives fans a chance to take on their favorite Chrisley persona and offers the family great opportunities to engage with their socially active and loyal fan base.”
Additionally, USANetwork.com has launched a "Chrisley Nation" homepage where fans can track other fans, upload photos with their own families and take part in live Periscope chats with the Chrisley family, dubbed "Todd Talks."
The Chrisley family is in high demand at USA. In addition to the upcoming third season, which will air in two parts and run for 18 episodes, there is a spinoff project and a late-night talk show fronted by the family patriarch in development at the network.
Dubsmash, which launched in November 2014, allows users to record short videos of themselves with well-known audio and then share those videos with other users. There are more than 50 million users across 192 countries. Veep and Saturday Night Live are among the other shows that have partnered with Dubsmash in recent months.
Chrisley Knows Best's new season premieres on June 2 at 9 p.m. on USA.
