Apple's workplace drama Severance has added Oscar winner Christopher Walken to its ensemble.

Walken's casting completes the regular cast for the thriller, which is set at a company, Lumen Industries, that aims to take work-life balance to the next level. Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette and John Turturro topline the cast.

Walken, in the first series-regular role of his long career, will play Burt, the head of optics and design at the company. Scott stars in Severance as Mark, an employee with a shady past who's trying to put himself back together. Arquette plays Mark's boss, and Turturro plays a long-time employee of the company.

Production on the series, which comes from Endeavor Content, is scheduled to begin later this month. The cast also includes Britt Lower (Man Seeking Woman), Tramell Tillman (Godfather of Harlem), Jen Tullock and Zach Cherry (HBO's Crashing).

Dan Erickson created the series and executive produces with showrunner Mark Friedman (AMC's Dispatches From Elsewhere). Ben Stiller (who's also directing) Nicky Weinstock and Jackie Cohn of Red Hour Productions are also EPs, as is Chris Black. Arquette and Scott are producers.

Severance will mark Walken's first TV work since 2014's Peter Pan Live on NBC and the British telefilm Turks & Caicos, which aired as part of PBS' Masterpiece in the United States. His recent film credits include The War With Grandpa, The Jesus Rolls (alongside Turturro) and the upcoming Wild Mountain Thyme. He is repped by ICM Partners.
