The Hashtag Wars are here to stay.

Comedy Central has renewed late-night pop culture game show @Midnight, hosted by Chris Hardwick, for a third season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The Emmy-nominated series, airing Monday through Thursday and produced by Funny or Die, will return for another 40-week run that will air throughout 2016.

The series — a hit on social media with games like Hashtag Wars and more — reaches the youngest median age (33 years) and most male (68 percent) audience of any late-night talk show. It ranks second with men 18-34 and third with viewers 18-34 in all of late night.

@Midnight, which airs after The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore, is produced by Hardwick, Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant; Mike Farah and Joe Farrell for Funny or Die; Alex Blagg, Jason Nadler and Jon Zimelis of Serious Business; showrunner Jack Martin; and Alex Murray of Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Gary Mann and Tara Schuster oversee for Comedy Central.

"Comedy Central has been an amazing and supportive partner for @Midnight and I cannot thank them enough,” said Hardwick. “Making inappropriate jokes about Internet culture with my comedian friends is something I would do for the rest of my life if they'd let me. And this pick-up gives us the runway to tackle next year's election, which I'm guessing will yield no shortage of social media gems."

Hardwick — who will have a full schedule at Comic-Con, with gigs moderating panels including Star Wars, The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, among others — is also teaming with Syfy for a weekly series based on his digital Nerdist News. Should that pilot move forward, Hardwick would have series on three different cable networks, including @Midnight and AMC's Walking Dead post-show talker Talking Dead.
