Courteney Cox is plotting her return to the small screen.

The Friends and Cougar Town alum is developing a starring vehicle for Fox, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The untitled single-camera project — which is in development — centers on Hailey (Cox), a woman who inherits her late billionaire husband's charity and finds that changing the world is far less glamorous than she had imagined.

The comedy hails from outside producers ABC Studios and will be written by Robert Padnick (The Office), with James Griffiths on board to executive produce and direct the potential pilot. Padnick, Cox and Thea Mann also are on board to exec produce.

The role would mark the actress's return to broadcast television following ABC-to-TBS comedy Cougar Town.

Friends alums — both actors and writer-producers — continue to remain in high demand. ABC recently picked up two comedy pilots both hailing from alums of the NBC favorite.

Cox is repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
