Paramount+ continues to bring back key brands from the ViacomCBS portfolio.

The streamer, which will be rebranded from CBS All Access in March, is reviving Criminal Minds. The series is officially being revived with showrunner Erica Messer and the cast as a 10-episode anthology that looks at one case per season. Paramount+ also will be home to a docuseries, The Real Criminal Minds, that will include clips from the original series.

As part of ViacomCBS' investor day Feb. 24, executives also revealed that Spike/Paramount Network's ratings hit Waco would be revisited as part of a larger anthology, this time called American Tragedy. Each season of the series will tackle conspiracy-riddled moments in history. Additional details of the new project were not immediately available.

Criminal Minds, from CBS Studios and ABC Signature, originally aired on CBS for 15 seasons and concluded last year. Criminal Minds was a cornerstone of CBS' procedural programming. The series, originally created by Jeff Davis, birthed two spinoffs. A new take would bring added value and interest to the show's vast library, which is already streaming on CBS All Access. The drama about FBI criminal profilers has also been available on Netflix, where it often ranks as one of the streaming giant's top-performing acquired programs.

CBS All Access is being rebranded as Paramount+ in early March. The platform will now be broadened out to incorporate programming from across parent company ViacomCBS' sprawling portfolio, with content from the likes of Paramount Network, Nickelodeon (SpongeBob), Comedy Central and MTV. The streamer recently announced that it is reviving The Real World, with a reunion series featuring the reality staple's original New York cast, available at launch as the platform looks to draw new subscribers to the refreshed service.

A return to Criminal Minds also comes as broadcast network CBS is plotting a return to CSI with a limited series featuring original stars William Petersen and Jorja Fox that would, in success, also stream on Paramount+ and refresh interest in the global hit's expansive library on the platform.

Updated, Feb. 24: This story has been updated to include the official confirmation of Criminal Minds as well as the new anthology American Tragedy.
