'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Unveils First Season 9 Teaser, Premiere Date

Larry David is back.

HBO on Monday unveiled the first teaser for the highly anticipated return of David's long-running comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The pay cabler also announced that the new season will launch Oct. 1 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The 10-episode season comes six years after season eight wrapped in 2011. Among the fan favorites set to return are Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman and JB Smoove. Garlin will also executive produce with David and returning exec producer Jeff Schaffer.

Season 9 of Curb was greenlighted in June 2016, and the teaser echoes David's Julius Caesar-inspired statement at the time the new episodes were first announced. The two-time Emmy-winning comedy first debuted on HBO as a special in 1999 before becoming a full-fledged series.

Since Curb's last episode, David has gone onto star in the HBO original movie Clear History and most recently played Sen. Bernie Sanders on Saturday Night Live, perhaps most memorably in a sketch called Bern Your Enthusiasm that contained several elements from the HBO series.
