HBO is rounding out the cast of The Leftovers.

Tony nominee Carrie Coon, former Doctor Who Christopher Eccleston, Ann Dowd and Amanda Warren have joined the cast of Damon Lindelof's adaptation of Tom Perrotta's book of the same name, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The Leftovers, which was published in May 2012, takes place as the Rapture happens -- but not quite like it's supposed to. It is billed as the story of the people who didn’t make the cut, and a world that will never be the same.

Justin Theroux has signed on to play Kevin Garvey, the police chief and father of two who is trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy in a world that is starting to completely reject the notion.

Coon will play Nora Durst, a wife and mother who is suddenly neither; Eccleston will portray Matt Jamison, a former reverend and current editor of his self-published tabloid; Dowd will play Patti Levin, the leader of the local chapter of Guilty Remnant, an organization described as between a cult and a movement; Warren is Lucy Warburton, Mapleton's take-no-prisoners mayor.

Lindelof will co-write and executive produce the Warner Bros. TV effort with Perrotta. Joining the pair as executive producers are Ron Yerxa, Albert Berger, Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey. Berg also will direct The Leftovers pilot.

Coon picked up a Tony Award nomination this year for her work in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Her TV work includes episodes of Law & Order: SVU, The Playboy Club and NBC's Ironside pilot. She's repped by Gersh, New Wave Entertainment and Peikoff Law.

Eccleston, who played the Doctor for 13 episodes in 2005 and counts Heroes and the upcoming Thor: The Dark World among his credits, is with Independent Talent Group and Principal Entertainment.

Dowd (Compliance and the upcoming X/Y feature) is with Innovative Artists and Principal Entertainment.

Warren (The Adjustment Bureau, Royal Pains) is with AKA, Leading Artists, MJ Management and Jackoway Tyerman.
