'Dancing With the Stars' Cast Includes Simone Biles, Mr. T and...a Professional Dancer
Dancing With the Stars announced the celebrity and dancer pairings for its upcoming 24th season during Wednesday's episode of Good Morning America — and, among the regular mix of athletes, actors and head-scratchers, there's an actual professional dancer this year.
Glee star Heather Morris may be the ABC reality competition's biggest ringer yet, joining veteran pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy with an already impressive résumé as a dancer. Morris, 30, was once a So You Think You Can Dance hopeful and toured with Beyonce as one of the singer's backup dancers back in 2007. She also memorably appeared behind Beyonce during her 2008 Saturday Night Live performance of "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)."
That's not to say Morris is the only one coming into this season with a competitive edge. Olympics dynamo Simone Biles will bring her gymnastics skills to the ballroom, and figure skating icon Nancy Kerrigan is also on board this season.
Elsewhere, there's Fifth Harmony singer Normani Kordei, recent NFL free agent Rashad Jennings, flamenco guitarist Charo, comedian Chris Kattan, MLB retiree David Ross and Mr. T — as well as apparent famous people Erika Jayne and Bonner Bolton.
And continuing with the franchise's network synergy, it also was announced that current Bachelor Nick Viall will be paired with Peta Murgatroyd.
Dancing With the Stars is set to premiere Monday, March 20, after Viall's season of The Bachelor comes to an end. Complete cast and pairings are listed below.
