David Walton is returning to broadcast television.

The actor, fresh off an arc on Showtime's Masters of Sex, has booked the co-starring role in CBS comedy pilot 9J, 9K, and 9L, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The multicamera family comedy is inspired by a time in leading man Mark Feuerstein's adult life when he lived in apartment 9K in the building he grew up in, sandwiched between his parents’ apartment, 9J, and his brother, sister-in-law and their baby’s apartment, 9L, and his attempts to set boundaries with his intrusive but well meaning family.

Feuerstein stars as Josh, while Walton will play Andrew, Josh's successful, narcissistic and very competitive brother.

The casting brings Walton back to broadcast following comedic roles in New Girl, About a Boy, Bent and Perfect Couples. He's repped by Gersh and MGMT Entertainment.

Royal Pains grad Feuerstein will pen the script alongside his wife and prolific TV writer Dana Klein. The duo exec produce the CBS Television Studios comedy alongside Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling and Dana Honor.
