Disney Channel's groundbreaking coming-of-age series Andi Mack is saying goodbye.

The teen-centered sitcom, which has been on hiatus since March 1, is returning to finish out its third season before signing off the little screen. Andi Mack will air its final episodes every Friday starting June 21, which will feature back-to-back episodes, and will conclude with a series finale July 26.

Andi Mack, a series hailed for inspiring social change, was created by Terri Minsky and centered on a 13-year-old girl named Andi (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) and her interactions with her family and her two best friends, Cyrus (Joshua Rush) and Buffy (Sofia Wylie).

The series also stars Lilan Bowden as Rebecca "Bex" Mack, Lauren Tom as Celia Mack, Asher Angel as Jonah Beck and Trent Garrett as Bowie.

"Andi Mack was a labor of love for a room of impassioned, inventive writers, a talented and dedicated crew, and an extraordinary, miraculous cast who inspired us all," said Minsky in a statement Wednesday. "We had the honor of breaking a lot of new ground for Disney Channel. We were its first serialized show, its first series centered around an Asian-American family and its first to feature an LGBTQ character who spoke the words, 'I'm gay.'"

Minsky continued, "But the best part of making Andi Mack was our audience, who let us know we mattered to them. The series finale is for them."

The second season of Andi Mack broke ground with Cyrus, one of the show's main characters, beginning to realize that he had feelings for a male classmate. The season explored his journey to self-discovery and ultimately self-acceptance as a gay individual.

The plot, which was the first gay storyline to be featured on the network, was hailed by GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis for "reflecting the lives and lived experiences of so many LGBTQ youth around the country."

Andi Mack had been earmarked for Disney+ and will still be one of the TV series to be included in Disney's direct-to-consumer platform's library when it launches Nov. 12, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.

"Three years ago, we challenged Terri Minsky to create a new series that expanded and broadened the Disney Channel brand. And so was born Andi Mack. We are forever grateful to Terri, her talented team and the outstanding cast, led by Peyton Elizabeth Lee, for delivering a meaningful and satisfying conclusion to three wonderful seasons of this brilliant series," said Gary Marsh, president of the Disney Channel, on Wednesday.

Andi Mack is Disney Channel's most-watched series overall and its highest-rated among kids 6-14. The series is executive produced by Minsky and Michelle Manning. Phil Baker is co-executive producer. Andi Mack is produced by Horizon Productions and carries a TV-G parental guideline.

The final episodes of Andi Mack air Fridays, June 21-July 26, at 8 p.m. on Disney Channel and Disney NOW. Watch the cast discuss the significance of the series below.
