Fox is looking to explore divorce in a new comedy.

The network has handed out a script order for the single-camera comedy Eight.

From You're the Worst alum Alison Bennett, the project revolves around children of divorce Jillian and Trevor, who, after a whirlwind romance that resulted in a baby and a wedding (in that order), attempt to carve out their own family's identity — with eight grandparents there to offer 8 million different opinions.

Bennett will pen the script and executive produce the comedy alongside Rob Rosell (New Girl, The Mick, It's Always Sunny). Eight is being produced by 20th Century Fox Television, where Upright Citizens Brigade alum Bennett inked an overall deal last year. Bennett currently is a co-exec producer and writer on the studio's ABC comedy Single Parents. Her credits include Fox's L.A. to Vegas and Idiotsitter. She is repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.

Rosell, meanwhile, is also prepping the Leah Remini-Kaitlin Olson pilot for Fox, which remains in contention. He is with CAA and Hansen Jacobson.

The comedy arrives as so-called New Fox is looking for broader-skewing programming following its asset sale to Disney. The network recently picked up the retirement home comedy The Cool Kids for a full season.
