Netflix's anthology series based on Dolly Parton's music has a title, a showrunner and the song for its first episode: the classic "Jolene."

The eight-episode series is called Dolly Parton's Heartstrings. Each episode, based on a different Parton song, will have its oqn unique cast. Parton will introduce each episode and act in some, including the first one, "Jolene."

The eight one-hour episodes will feature new and classic music from Parton: love stories, inspirational tales, Westerns and revenge comedies. The series will follow a template set by the pair of TV movies NBC made with Parton based on her song "Coat of Many Colors."

Julianne Hough (Grease Live, Footloose) will play the title character in "Jolene," a flirtatious free spirit who wants to escape her hometown of Coventry, Georgia, and become a singer-songwriter. She is repped by WME and Untitled Entertainment.

The cast also features Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Nashville) as Emily, a mother and wife starting a new chapter in life and who gets pulled into Jolene's orbit; and Dallas Roberts (Insatiable) as Aaron, a loving husband and father on the verge of a midlife crisis.

Parton will play Babe, a "force of nature" and the owner of Baby Blue's, a honky-tonk known for its scantily clad servers and eclectic crowd. She looks after all her waitresses but feels especially close to Jolene.

Patrick Sean Smith (Greek, Chasing Life) is the showrunner and executive produces with Sam Haskell and Parton. Haskell's Magnolia Hill Productions and Parton's Sandollar Productions produce in association with Warner Bros. TV and Netflix.

Heartstrings is set to premiere in 2019 under Netflix's usual all-at-once release pattern. Songs and casts for future episodes will be announced later.
