Starz is adding some more comedic fare to its development slate, partnering with Doug Liman and David Bartis for Heartbeats.

The half-hour, technically billed as a dramedy, comes from Hypnotic, Universal Cable Productions and writers Ben York Jones and Michael Mohan. It follows the intersecting and diverging lives of would-be couple Bobby and Kirsten -- a pair that seems perfect for each other but seems to be suffering from bad timing. Each episode would focus alternately on Bobby and Kristen.

Heartbeats joins the Survivor's Remorse, a project from Lebron James and Tom Werner, as another comedy on the development slate. The drama-focused network has not aired a comedy since Party Down wrapped in 2010.

Liman and Bartis will seve as executive producers for Hypnotic, with Jones and Mohan serving as co-EPs.

Jones and Mohan are both repped by represented by CAA and Dave Feldman of Bloom Hergott. Jones is also repped by Matt Luber of Luber/Rocklin and Mohan by Anonymous Content.
