Dylan Walsh has been booked for a Life Sentence.

The Nip/Tuck and Unforgettable alum has closed a deal to co-star in The CW's dramedy pilot Life Sentence, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

From executive producer Bill Lawrence, the dramedy explores what happens when a young woman named Stella (Pretty Little Liars' Lucy Hale) is diagnosed with terminal cancer and, after she finds out that she's not dying after all, has to learn to live with the choices she made when she decided to "live like she was dying."

Walsh will play Paul, Stella's father. Paul is a sturdy, stoic man who loves his wife and golf, and hugs his grandkids more than he's ever hugged his kids. An economics professor, Paul is great at investing, but not great at feelings.

This marks Walsh's latest small-screen role following recent gigs on Designated Survivor and Longmire. He's repped by Gersh, McGowan Management and Stone Genow.

Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith (Significant Mother) will pen the script for the Warner Bros. Television pilot and exec produce alongside Lawrence and his Doozer topper, Jeff Ingold.
