Entertainment One Enlists CAA's Peter Micelli as Chief Strategy Officer

The TV agent will work with newly installed chief content officer Mark Gordon at the company.

Peter Micelli is exiting his longtime home at CAA in favor of a top job at Entertainment One.

The longtime TV literary agent and co-head of the TV department has been tapped to serve as chief strategy officer for film, TV and digital projects at Entertainment One. In his new role, Micelli will oversee eOne's TV and digital content and leverage his deep industry relationships to drive innovative partnerships for the company. He will report directly to Mark Gordon, eOne's newly installed chief content officer, and president Steve Berttram.

“Pete was my agent for four years, during which he helped me grow the Mark Gordon Co. into a trusted destination for producers, talent, and their passion projects. He is an expert at building media companies to become leaders in an increasingly digital and global landscape, and I am thrilled to have him on our team as we continue to fortify and evolve eOne’s worldwide content business,” Gordon said Thursday in a statement.

Micelli started at CAA in the mid-1990s and has repped showrunners including Jenji Kohan (Orange Is the New Black), Damon Lindelof (The Leftovers), Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek: Discovery), Peter Lenkov (Hawaii Five-0) and Amy Harris (Sex and the City), among others. He also packaged the Gordon-produced ABC drama Designated Survivor and ABC's upcoming straight-to-series drama The Rookie, starring Nathan Fillion.

"For the past two decades, I have worked on behalf of many of the world’s most talented storytellers, helping create opportunities for their programming to be seen around the world,” said Micelli. “I am thrilled to partner with Mark and Steve to build a next-generation studio, where artists have greater creative control of their IP and more opportunities to get their projects to production.”

The news comes after Gordon was tapped to serve president and chief content officer of independent studio eOne after the company acquired the remaining 49 percent of the Mark Gordon Co. Pending shareholder approval, Entertainment One will acquire the Mark Gordon Co. in a deal worth $209 million. As part of the pact, Bertram was named president of film, TV and digital, overseeing all commercial and distribution operations. That left little room for Gordon's head of television Nick Pepper, who will exit the company for Legendary when his contract expires in May.
