'Teen Beach Movie' Star Joins ABC Family's 'The Fosters' (Exclusive)

Garrett Clayton reunites with "Teen Beach" co-star Maia Mitchell on the hour-long drama.

A Teen Beach Movie reunion is on the horizon.

Actor Garrett Clayton, who starred with Maia Mitchell on Disney Channel's summer ratings hit, has landed a pivotal role on ABC Family's The Fosters, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Clayton has joined the hour-long drama in a recurring capacity as Chase, a handsome and charming high school senior who recruits Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) to join the crew of the school play. He first appears in the second episode of the winter season, which kicks off in January.

The casting comes days after ABC Family issued an early season two renewal for The Fosters. Rosie O'Donnell is also set to recur when the series returns for the remaining episodes of its freshman season.

Co-created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige, The Fosters follows a multicultural family led by two moms. Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, David Lambert, Jake T. Austin, Hayden Byerly, Danny Nucci co-star with Mitchell and Ramirez.

Executive producers are Jennifer Lopez, Joanna Johnson, Greg Gugliotta, Elaine Goldsmith Thomas, Benny Medina and John Ziffren on the Nuyorican/Prodco Inc. production.

Repped by Talent Works and Roar, Clayton has guest starred in The Client List, Shake It Up and Days of Our Lives and starred in the 2012 TV movie Holiday Spin.
