If Fox was looking for a way to make sure that fans tune in to X Factor on its special Thanksgiving week air days on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, they’ve found it. On this week’s results show, the competition will eliminate two performers leaving only seven finalists to battle it out for the $5 million recording contract.

The timing couldn’t be more pivotal as viewers found two favorites in the bottom two before most people expected them to be there. To honor the spirit of Thanksgiving and the fact that they’re still around, each act is performing a song dedicated to someone they want to thank. So, fans are going to want to make sure and support their contestants with votes.

Additionally, Clarkson will perform her new single, “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)” from her fifth album, Stronger. And coming off of a win for favorite pop rock male at Sunday’s American Music Awards, Mars will be taking The X Factor stage with his hit song, “It Will Rain.”

This week’s X Factor performance show airs on Tuesday with the results show on Wednesday – both at 8 p.m. on Fox.
