'Full Frontal With Samantha Bee' Renewed for Season 6 at TBS
TBS may not have Conan on its network for much longer but Samantha Bee is not going anywhere.
The WarnerMedia-backed basic cable network has handed out a sixth-season renewal for Full Frontal With Samantha Bee. The Emmy-winning host has also renewed her first-look deal with the company and her Swimsuit Competition banner will continue to create and develop new projects for the portfolio.
"It’s a huge honor to get to keep doing this crazy smart and silly show for a sixth season,” Bee said. “Is it official though? Are we still waiting for Pennsylvania to certify the sixth season?”
The decision comes after Full Frontal was among the late-night shows that successfully filmed new episodes during the pandemic from their hosts' respective homes. Full Frontal's sixth season will return Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 10:30 p.m. on TBS.
“I’m so proud to have Sam part of the TBS family. After creating award-winning episodes from the dire elements of her backyard, I can’t wait to see what she does with some electricity and a roof over her head," said Brett Weitz, TNT TBS and truTV GM. “She is a champion for important causes and brings issues to light that inspire, entertain and educate.”
The pickup arrives a month after TBS announced that Conan O'Brien's late-night series will end its run in June 2021 following a 10-year run with the cabler. The veteran late-night host will then move to a weekly variety series on TBS' streaming counterpart, HBO Max. (TBS will remain home to O'Brien's Conan Without Borders travel specials.)
Full Frontal is produced by Jax Media. Bee, Jason Jones, Tony Hernandez, Miles Kahn, Alison Camillo and Pat King exec produce.
Bee is the latest late-night host to extend her deal. Others who recently added time to their respective perches include Jimmy Fallon, John Oliver and Bill Maher.
